Yesterday our fifth through twelfth-grade teachers had the pleasure of having guest speaker Coach Dennis Parker speak to them about his building character program. Coach Parker has coached football for numerous high schools and at the University of North Texas and Texas Lutheran University. He now runs the "Changing Lives Building Character" program with his wife, Merry Parker, where they help change lives in schools, locker rooms, and communities.
After speaking with our teachers, Coach Parker spoke to our students about the 36-character traits he implements in his program. Some of these character traits include a positive attitude, making good decisions, and having values. Starting on Monday, Oct. 31st, our Jr. High and High School students will be beginning Coach Parker 36-week course during their homeroom classes.
For more information about this new curriculum, please check out Coach Parker's website at www.developingcharacter.org or their Facebook site at Changing Lives, Building Character.

Every litter bit hurts, and Litter Education is a program spreading that message. By providing opportunities for creative projects, the programs teach students about the harmful effects of littering and the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling. LE is free for school systems, low-hassle for teachers, beneficial for students, and essential for Oklahoma. Programs are offered to any form of educational institution, including private, public, and homeschooled.
We have several projects in BOTH categories! Please vote and share with your friends and families!
