Navajo Archery
My name is Mrs. Laurey Dunn, and I am one of two archery coaches for Navajo Archery. This is the third year that Navajo has offered archery, and this is my first year as an archery instructor. It has been exciting and interesting learning all of the aspects of NASP archery!
I completed training alongside my co-instructor, Mrs. Danette Funkhouser, this past summer with the Oklahoma Wildlife Department in Acadia, Oklahoma. We tried to absorb as much information as possible from our instructors, but we also continue to learn from our current archery students! We are looking forward to a great season with three teams. We have an Elementary, Middle School, and High School team that we are working with weekly.
During the 22-23school year, the elementary team won Western Region State Champions.
During the 23-24 school year, the middle and high school division competed in 5 local tournaments and Navajo hosted their 2nd annual Navajo Nock Ninja Archery with visiting archers from Lone Wolf and ACA. At Western Region State competition, Foster Dunn won 1st place in all categories, and Carlee Miller won 2nd place.
